Mo-mo Kermis   
 

    Mo-mo Kermis is a traditional custom prevailing in Dengfeng, Zhengzhou city, and the meeting place is located in Nine-dragon Pool in Songshan Mountain. In the terms of its origin, local people say that in the past there were some people bing not able to give a birth, so they went to pray for a child to the Goddess at night and their wishes came true finally. Thus they came on the Goddess's birthday eve to thank her, when was the lunar May 14. Every year many people even from nearby cities like Gongyi and Xinmi come there to make a pray and Promise. From then on this custom is set up gradually and lasts till now. However, with the development of medical science, less people pray to the Goddess for children, but it becomes a spot for the young to romance their boy/girl-friends. Besides, with time passing by, it also becomes a place for exchanging goods.
