綿棗，俗名地棗、粘棗，屬百合科多年生草木。地下球形鱗莖，葉狹線形，秋季開淡紫紅色小花。大部分山坡 均有生長，球形鱗莖可食，每年3至5月采挖。為多年生草本，地下有磷莖、葉片線性、從生于地面，象韭菜。7—8月間葉叢中生出直立的花梗，花梗頂端開出粉紅色小花。每年4月，綿棗發芽長葉后，農民遍山找尋，將磷莖挖出，洗凈泥土，經過多次蒸煮，糖液自出，甜味沁人心脾，如加點紅糖，則更甜美。綿棗屬熱性補品，營養價值高，其性粘，味甜美，老少皆宜，綿棗風味獨特，能補養身體，久儲不壞，有健身防病功能 。
