內(nèi)黃是紅棗之鄉(xiāng),內(nèi)黃紅棗品種繁多,扁核酸棗占90%以上。內(nèi)黃扁核酸棗種植歷史悠久,據(jù)《內(nèi)黃縣志》的記載,五百年前,內(nèi)黃棗林已有相當(dāng)規(guī)模。內(nèi)黃扁核酸棗耐旱,耐澇,耐鹽堿,豐收性能強(qiáng)。棗子成熟后,紅中透亮,皮薄肉厚,酸甜酥脆,鮮美可口;釀成干棗后,壓扁能還原。這種扁核酸棗還有一大特點(diǎn):夏天用它做粽子、蒸棗饃,存放七、八日,不變餿。1915年,內(nèi)黃扁核酸棗曾在巴拿馬萬國(guó)博覽會(huì)上展出。
Wild Jujubes
Neihuang is the hometown of red dates, among varieties of red dates, oblate-nuclear wild jujubes occupy more than 90 percent. According to Neihuang County Record, Neihuang oblate-nuclear wild jujubes has been cultivated for a long time which has reached to a large scale 500 years ago. This kind of jujubes are drought-resistant, waterlogging-resistant, saline-alkali-resistant, and have strong harvest performance. Matured jujubes are red, shiny, sweet and sour and have thin peels and thick pericarp. When dried in the sun, they can recover original shapes after pressed. Furthermore, they can be used to make rice dumplings or jujube steamed buns which can be stored for 7 to 8 days without getting rotten. In 1915, these wild jujubes were exhibited in Panama International Expo.
